Representatives of the Technology Transfer Office presented the technological offer of MUG during a “science to business”-type trade fair.
The Technology Transfer Office, once again, presented MUG inventions during the medical trade fair. This time it was the ARAB HEALTH 2023 trade fair, which took place from 30 January to 2 February this year in Dubai. The ARAB HEALTH is the largest trade fair in the Middle East and one of the world’s most important trade fairs for the medical industry. This year’s guests had the opportunity to become acquainted with the latest solutions and products in the field of electromedicine and medical technologies, IT in the medical and health industry, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, physiotherapy and orthopaedic technology, as well as disposable medical products. The event was attended by representatives of the world’s leading companies in the medical technology sector, including GE HealthCare, Siemens Healthineers, Philips and Aster Pharmacy. The event enjoyed a record attendance compared to the time before the pandemic; the current edition of the fair was attended by over 135,000 MedTech specialists from 183 countries and more than 3,000 exhibition stands were prepared, located in 9 huge exhibition halls. The event participants were also able to become acquainted with solutions developed by startups from all over the world, during pitching sessions on artificial intelligence issues.
Both Polish exhibition stands and MUG inventions attracted interest from foreign recipients. TTO MUG innovation brokers conducted a number of talks with potential investors and clients, presenting technologies that were developed at our university with the support of subsequent editions of the MEiN program implemented at the Technology Transfer Office: “Innovation Incubator +”, “Innovation Incubator 2.0”, “Innovation Incubator 4.0”. Thanks to the extensive network of business contacts, it is possible to conduct further dialogue with representatives of leading companies in the medical industry, who declared willingness to regularly receive the current offer of the most interesting solutions proposed by MUG scientists. The participation of a leading Polish medical university in such global events is particularly important in the context of the plans for further measures regarding the strategy of implementing medical innovations on both domestic and foreign markets, in addition to providing the best insight into global industry trends to match the area of technologies developed in MUG to the latest market needs as accurately as possible.
The participation of MUG in the event was possible thanks to the implementation of the “Innovation Incubator 4.0” program by the Technology Transfer Office, which provides support to the entities of the higher education and science system in the implementation of projects aimed at finding applications of scientific research results in the economic and social spheres. The financial resources are derived from European funds within the framework of the non-competition project “Support for research management and commercialization of R&D results in research units and enterprises”, implemented under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020.
